Materials:
-
Mylar: originally developed for old cassette tapes, we found a use for it in our wing skin. It's thin, light, and strong - everything we need
-
Home Depot Foam: cut with a hot wire and a laser cut template, this standard insulation foam will be used as our wing ribs.
-
Wood: what can you used wood for? Everything
-
Composites: gives us support and stiffening where we need it. Looking to use fiberglass cloth and uni-directional carbon
-
Depron: this is used for our leading edge of the wing. With a little hot water and magic, you can bend this thing like Beckham
